On Assumptions and Cheesiness

When I wrote the last post, I was dreaming about vacation. But I made an assumption. I assumed that anyone who might read this post would know that really...really what I'm most looking forward to is not that we don't have to make any big decisions. It's not the mountains or the wildlife or the great food. It's not being away from work. It's not any of those things. It's the fact that I get to do all of these things with Tim. For the last several weeks, there was hardly a weeknight that one of us wasn't doing something school related. "Hey, babe...how was your day?...okay great...goodnight." That's how many evenings ended as one of us came in the door. Although as I mentioned, now that school's out, we'll have time to sleep, talk, play a little, and breathe, it's not the same as having no responsibilities and having uninterrupted time together.

Don't get me wrong, we enjoy our own interests, friends, and space, but I love spending time with him because, indeed, I don't just love my husband, I like him. Sadly, I'm finding more and more that that's not the case with all married couples. He makes me laugh. He's a great listener. He loves me fiercely. He takes care of me when I need care. He kicks my butt when it needs kicking. He encourages me to follow my dreams. He's got a toothy grin, a sparkle in his eye, an infectious laugh, and as an added bonus, he's a looker!

I just wanted to set the record straight. I'm excited to go on vacation, but I'm more excited because it's with my husband. Call me cheesy if you want. I can take it.

I love a good cheesy blog !! And I am always happy to hear people praise their spouse. It is rare! Richard and I celebrate 39 years in June and I still love and like my man! Can't wait for you to get on the road and post pictures!
