I love summer. I know, who doesn't, but as an educator, it's even better because things are just slower. As a teacher, really slow...okay, it stops. Sometimes I miss that, but I love my job and get energized during the summer because I get to plan for next year. There is so much to do in St. Louis in the summer! As this blog will soon chronicle, we will leave for Alaska in mid-July for a spectacular experience. But until then, we will be busy in St. Louis. Obviously, there are the old stand-bys--The Muny, Ted Drewes, The Zoo, The Arch, yeah, we probably won't be doing any of those. : ) Tim's off for the summer and has some home maintenance to take care of but none thrilling enough to document. I'll still be working during the week, but the days are much less stressful, and I really don't have to work during the weekend like I do during the school year, sooooo, we play more, trying to find unique experiences to take in. Here's what we're thinking:
There are many great theater productions in town--many of which I'm not even aware. I knew nothing about Stray Dog Theatre, but a friend of mine suggested we see The Visit at Tower Grove Abbey in about a week--looking forward to that. I'm sure you'll be surprised, but we're going to eat before--Franco--one of my favorites.

Of course, at some point we'll see The Taming of the Shrew in Forest Park.

Then there's also a fun gathering in Tower Grove Park of local food trucks--can't wait!
Mark your calendar for the first Food Truck Friday, June 10!
I'll also visit several farmers' markets, state parks close by, and lots of eating establishments with friends.
Did I say I love summer? What are you going to do? Leave a note and let me know!

I'm golfing and planning to eat at one of these fine establishments with you and Tim! ;O)
Dana
Tim says, "That's a great idea. I haven't seen Dana in forever." I concur!
