I had photos for you--four photos of the looooong straight stretches in Texas, one of lunch--a strip steak, fried okra, and sweet potato fries for Tim, and my chicken fried steak, green beans, and mashed potatoesfor me...had as in past tense...had. I erased them right off my memory card. I don't usually do that kind of thing. I'm glad I did it today when all I had to share with you today is the monotony of the long journey home.
There's just nothing exciting about trying to get home in a hurry. Tim and I spend hours recapping where we've been, where we'd revisit, and believe it or not, we we might head next year (pending my summer classes). We've had an awesome, and I mean awesome vacation. It's just, well, I'm getting old. Just five short years ago, we were gone for a whopping twenty-eight days. Today is day nineteen. I'm ready to be home. Maybe it's because we saw everything we wanted to see, but I'm looking forward to sleeping in my own bed, talking at length with friends and family to get caught up, cooking in my own kitchen...
We'll see you all soon.
