We drove from Farmington, New Mexico to Santa Fe today. It
was a leisurely drive. We made the decision on the fly not to go to Taos today.
I understand that it is a beautiful town full of artists (and ski bums in the
winter), but we figured we’d get enough of that in Santa Fe. The drive was
pretty but nothing spectacular compared to what we had been seeing. I don’t
know if I should be embarrassed or proud that the only thing I photographed was
food (and the hole- in-the-wall gas station were we picked up lunch. : ) That’s
it. We’ll spend the next day and a half in Santa Fe, then on to Albuquerque.
We ate lunch at El Parasol..
Yep, that's a gas station. The tamale was almost as good as my friend Denise's (almost, Denise). The burrito and taco were delicious as well. The red sauce was hot--hotter than I usually eat. It was full of flavor, though, not just full of heat.
Dinner was at Maria's. While all the food was good, I could have made myself sick on these sopapillas and some honey.
By the way, thanks to all who are posting on the blog (especially my sis)! It's good to know people are reading!

I've gained 10 pounds reading these posts! Now I'm craving chips and that red hot salsa!
