Today was basically a travel day. We flew into Seattle without too much trouble. It seems, these days, that most flight are delayed--ours was no different. It was strange, this year, to snap our fingers and "poof," be in Seattle by 3:30 Pacific Time (5:30 Central Time). It was day 11 of our road trip last year before we got to Seattle. Tim remembered many of the streets--I was amazed! We caught the end of Pike's Market but didn't take any pictures--just took it all in. It was just as overwhelming as the first time. Tomorrow morning we may go back just to look around again. This year, we did cross the street, and I enjoyed a grande, skinny, cinnamon dulce latte (Yeah, I'm one of those--you only understand if you too, are a Starbucks freak.) at the original Starbucks. We ate dinner at Typhoon--a Thai restaurant in town. It's curious to me that you would name a restaurant after something so destructive--regardless, the food was excellent. I had Royal Duck Curry; Tim had King of Siam Curry (shrimp, scallops, crab, and mussels). We ate too much knowing we couldn't bring home leftovers.
We both knew we wanted to go back to "our hill" where we were able to see Mt. Rainer and the Seattle skyline last year. We didn't think we would have much luck with the mountain since many last year had told us "she" only "came out" a couple of times a month. Check out the picture links--we once again were blessed with an awesome view. Just the top of the mountain peaked out above the clouds.
Now for a technical note: This year, Tim and I both have nice cameras to document our trip. Not as a competition (I know, those of you who know me don't believe this, but really, it's true), but as a way to see what each of us found important, we are uploading our pictures separately. I chose both sets of pictures this time, but I'll make Tim choose his own from here on out. Notice--my pictures are a few Starbucks and a couple mountain pics; Tim's are...you guessed it--all mountain pics.
While it's only 11:19 here in Seattle, to Tim and I it feels like 1:19 a.m., and as Carla noticed: yesterday, somebody was up in the wee hours of the morning packing. More tomorrow.

2 cameras = 8,000 pictures?
Forget that...I didn't see that you had two cameras last time, too.
Glad you had a safe, although delayed, trip. Starbucks--totally cool. And, um, Amy, I think you've got some competition in the photo department. Good job, Tim!
-Deane, Grande chai, five pump, no water, extra hot, percent milk.
Carla:
Yeah, we had 2 cameras, but one was a point and shoot. The only reason we won't have 8,000 pictures is the fact that it's only 7 1/2 days instead of 28!
Deane:
2 percent? I told you Tim has a good eye!
