Denver International Airport |
Apparently, it hailed in Denver last night. Who knew? Not me, I was too busy packing to go on my awesome vacation that was supposed to start today...but it didn't. It didn't because it hailed in Denver. A lot. So much that over forty planes were damaged--twelve of Frontier Airlines', one of them being ours. Therefore, our flight was canceled this afternoon.
Did I tell you I have awesome friends? My friend Cynde, who took us to the airport this morning, turned around when I called her to let her know we wouldn't be leaving today. She sat in the cell phone lot for two hours (minus the two trips to McDonald's) as we stood in line and waited. We spent thirty minutes of that time at the ticket counter as our ticket lady tried to find ways to get us to Fairbanks tomorrow. She did. Thank God. No really, I mean thank God, 'cause it didn't seem very likely for a while there. Cynde's afternoon plans got canceled quite literally as we were driving to the airport so she was able to wait for us. We got back in the car and offered a heartfelt thanks. Her response to our thanks? "Oh no problem. See, God had other plans for me today." I'm sure glad He did. Thanks, again, Cynde, for today's ride AND tomorrow's!
So, if you think about us tomorrow, from about 8 a.m. until about 1 a.m.the next day, say a little prayer that our flights are running smoothly...all of them...from St. Louis to Chicago to Seattle to Fairbanks. It's going to be a long day.

Hoping you all made it safely to Fairbanks. Mom and I are going to B. Hall's tomorrow for lunch for wings. Maybe you'll have moose burgers.
