Academic Day

Today, we pretended to be really smart. We visited the JFK Library and Museum, Harvard, and Henry Wadsworth Longfellow's home. This will be a short entry today, since most of these are just taking in the aura of it all.

The JFK Museum and Library was very well done. Most of what was there was covered in history class, so it was just neat to see the artifacts themselves. While I didn't think that the assassination needed minute details, I was surprised that some of the usual footage was left out. The museum ended with the Kennedy legacy.

From there, we ate at our favorite place, Boston Sail Loft--man those clams are good. Tim got the whole seafood platter again.

After lunch we took the red line out to Harvard and walked around Harvard Yard. We also walked to Henry Wadsworth Longfellow's home. When we finished, we took the red line back in, grabbed a smoothie at Quincy Market (ya' gotta eat something healthy), then headed home early! Tomorrow we will try to cover a lot of ground.

I loved the JFK library. It was smaller than I thought it would be but fascinating nevertheless. I actually bought a book at the Haaavard book store. I also was pretending to be smart.

Hiway 40 will be closed near the stadium during the All Star game. Obama is throwing out the first pitch. Woo-Hoo! Some group is threatening to shut down 70 with a sit-in protest during the same time. It seems that 44 might be the only hiway open to get downtown. What is wrong with these people???! Don't ya wish you were here!
