Answer to Grace's Question

That's a good question.

Tim and I are going to be traveling from the Mississippi River to the Pacific Ocean and everywhere in between. Like Lewis and Clark, we are going to explore the western half of the country--it is our Manifest Destiny. (Yes, Tim is a history teacher.) We have a loose itinerary at this point. We know there are specific places and attractions we want to see, but we also know there will be there will be points of interest that maybe aren't on our "list" that we choose to stop and enjoy.

Being teachers, we have the freedom to travel during the summer. We may not see Maine in the fall until we retire, but we can go anywhere between June and August--for me this year, August 8th--uggghh!

The idea of our trip started this past fall when we decided to take a vacation this summer. We considered either San Francisco or the area around Mt. Rushmore. The more we talked, the bigger the trip became. Since we started talking during the fall, we started saving for the trip then too! We sent away for every tourism packet we could find, and had my sis get a Trip Tik prepared by AAA for us...

...and that brings us to today, June 1, 2007, just a few short days from our departure. Thanks to those who are helping keep the house in order while we are gone--Deane, Helen and Gene, and Larry and Carol!
