Sore-y

Today was a move out of Jasper and Banff towards Waterton Lakes National Park in the Southern region of Alberta. The day was one of transition, so it's slow and gives me a chance to talk about the Canadian accent. First of all, I haven't heard "eh" yet. But because they are some of the nicest people ever, they apologize...a lot. That word of apology sounds completely different...it's not sorry it's "sore-y." Say sore, and add a long e. Tim and I apologized for the dumbest things just to be able to say the word.

As we headed out of town, we finally ate the two little pastries from our bakery. Two days after purchase they were still ridiculously moist. It's a good thing this place isn't in St. Louis!

Back to Waterton--it butts up to Glacier National Park in Montana. As we left Calgary, we chose a lunch spot from Trip Advisor. Sometimes that works out, and sometimes it doesn't. Today...it did!

We ate at Naina's Kitchen, known for its stuffed burgers. It was delicious! We both got their signature burger--Alberta beef stuffed with pulled pork, apples, and caramelized onions. (Of course, Tim got his without onions.) There was cheese involved too, but I can't remember it was stuffed in or on top. The beef was so "beefy." The poutine was awesome as well--the potatoes were also local and "potato-y."

After we ate a late lunch, we took a scenic highway on down to Pincher's Creek, which is 45 minutes from Waterton. I didn't take any pictures, but there were beautiful, green, rolling hills that led to the foothills of the mountains. He didn't take the interstate, but a two lane province road. It was a great little drive. Tomorrow we'll explore Waterton National Park.
